Summer Hours Start Soon at Waterford's Transfer Station

Plus, brush can be brought to the transfer station until Saturday for no cost, and other dump-related news.

Starting on Monday, the Waterford Transfer Station will go back to “summer hours,” which means it will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7:30 to 3:30.

Other tidbits from the public works department (submitted by the department itself):

-April begins the bulky waste collections.  Residents can pay a $20 appointment charge to have items picked up at the curb.  The first date is April 9th  – but you must pay in advance to reserve your spot.  Additional costs may be associated with some items.  Call the office for a list of those items at (860) 444-5864.

-April also begins yard waste collection dates.  April 11th is the first date.  Brown recycling bags filled with leaves and twigs will be picked up as long as you call the office and leave your address with the staff.  If you have brush to be picked up, there is a $20 appointment charge and that brush must be no longer than four feet in length and be tied and securely bundled for pick-up.  Call the office if you have any questions at (860) 444-5864.

-Today and Saturday are the last two days to bring brush to the transfer station for no charge. The transfer station is open until 3:30 today and from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
