Verdict Reached In Waterford Speedbowl Sex Trafficking Case
The jury has reached a verdict in the Bruce Bemer case.

DANBURY, CT - Bruce Bemer, owner of Waterford/New London Speedbowl, was found guilty when the jury reached its verdict at Danbury Superior Court Wednesday afternoon, The Hartford Courant reported. Bemer, 65, of Glastonbury, had been charged with of four counts of patronizing a trafficked person and a single count of being an accessory to human trafficking.
The jury deliberated the case for two days before finding Bemer guilty on all charges, according to The Courant. He could face up to 30 years in jail.
Bemer was arrested in March 2017 and charged with being a client in a sex trafficking scheme that was based in a Danbury trailer home. He's been free on $500,000 bond since his arrest.

Police allege that the ring exploited young males with mental health issues by delivering them to wealthy clients statewide for the purpose of sex for money. The investigation began in January of 2016, but the business was in operation for over two decades, according to court documents.
Witnesses in the case recounted receiving money from Bemer in exchange for sex. Bemer was accused of being accused of patronizing a prostitute and being an accessory to trafficking.
