Victims' Families Suing Truck Driver After Fatal Waterford Crash

In October 2014, three people died after their car was struck by a tractor trailer on I-95 in Waterford.

On October 12, 2014, two Meriden children and an adult were killed after a tractor trailer truck collided with a vehicle carrying four people on Interstate-95 in Waterford.

The families of the three people recently filed wrongful death lawsuits against Gerard Dube of Swansea, Mass., the driver of the tractor trailer, according to FoxCT.

The company Dube was driving for, Gold Medal Bakery and Gold Medal Bagel Bakery, are also named in the suit.

Dacari Robinson, 3, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Three others were rushed to the hospital; Sanaa Reynolds, 9, who is Dacari’s half-brother, Baughnita Leary, 25, who is the mother of both children, and Darin Robinson, 26, who is the father of Dacari.

Sanaa and Robinson died two and three days after the accident.

According to The Day, the lawsuits state that the driver allegedly drove the truck when it had issues with its brakes, was speeding, overly tired and neglected to maintain a safe distance from other cars.

The lawsuits call for an undisclosed amount of money above $15,000 for medical bills and attorney’s fees.
