Volunteers respond to Heroin OD in Quaker Hill

Quaker Hill Fire Company volunteers respond to heroin overdose

At 4:04 pm Tuesday, volunteer members of Quaker Hill Fire Company responded to their station for an unconscious person who was not breathing, a suspected heroin overdose. The patient had been a passenger in a vehicle which had pulled into the firehouse seeking medical help. Upon arrival EMTs secured the patient's airway, provided respiratory assistance via BVM and administered NARCAN. The patient was transported with an L&M Hospital Paramedic, regaining consciousness en route to the hospital.
