Water Main Shut Down After Vehicle Strikes Hydrant: Waterford PD

Police ask travelers to drive very slowly through the area to avoid damage to vehicles.

WATERFORD, CT — Police said the water main for Route One will be shut down Thursday morning as crews work to repair a fire hydrant in the area of 330 Boston Post Road that was struck by a vehicle.

According to police, crews are stationed between Stoneheights Drive and Ellen Ward Road. There will be construction crews and officers in the area, police said.

"Water main break continues to flow in the area of Dunkin' Donuts west," police said on Facebook. "Please drive very slowly through the area to avoid damage to your cars. Water crews are on scene to shut down the main."
