Team Wins First Game In Regional Tournament

Here is a report of the game from proud parent and Patch correspondent Rick Beaney:

came back from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning to defeat Cranston, Rhode Island, 3-2, in their first game of the Babe Ruth 14-Year-Old Regional Tournament.

Adam Goss threw a complete game one-hitter for Waterford, allowing one earned run while striking out five. Connor Lewis came off the bench to deliver a pinch hit RBI double with two outs in the seventh inning to tie the game at 2-2. Griffen Archambault drove in Lewis with the game-winning run with a walk-off single.

Waterford takes on Newton, Mass today at 4 p.m. at Billy Bullens Field in Westfield.
