Waterford Considering Rules for Unsightly, Damaged Properties

A public safety committee was recently asked to draft an ordinance that would address such properties.

WATERFORD, CT - The town of Waterford is considering developing rules for unsightly properties, The Day reported.

Members of the town’s Representative Town Meeting will soon be looking into a way to handle unsightly and damaged properties, according to The Day. The RTM’s public safety committee has been asked to draft an ordinance to address these types of properties.

First Selectman Daniel Steward has received a number of complaints pertaining to blighted properties in town, The Day reported. The ordinance would also give Waterford’s zoning officer more authority to fine or cite property owners.
