Waterford Firefighters Knock Down House Fire

Firefighters battled a heavy blaze at a home on Millstone Road West on Saturday, August 15.

Waterford Fire Engine Company No. 1 were called to 49 Millstone Road West at 4:16 p.m. Saturday, August 15, after receiving a call about a house on fire.

Co.1, 3 and 4 responded. When firefighters arrived on scene, they observed heavy fire coming from the home. According to Zillow, the house is a single-family home with three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.

“Ladder 15 and Engine 11’s crews went to work searching, ventilating, and suppressing the fire.,” Waterford Fire Engine Company No. 1 said via Facebook. “Co. 5 and 2 were also called to assist. The incident took about 20 minutes to bring under control.”

Crews from all on-scene units were used for overhaul. New London Fire Department responded as the FAST Team. The Red Cross was on scene to assist the occupants with relocation efforts. No injuries were reported.

“The chief would like to thank all Waterford units for their assistance and determination to bring this incident under control,” the company said.
