
Waterford High School football coach Mike Ellis announced his resignation on Wednesday, the Day of New London reports.
Ellis was the head coach for 14 seasons and lead the school to the state playoffs twice, the paper reports. He will remain in his position as a math teacher at the school.
According to the paper, Ellis met with the football team on Tuesday to give them the news. He cited family reasons for leaving.
