Waterford High School Music Department’s Final Concert of the Year

On Tuesday, June 4, the WHS Music Department performed in the Pops Concert for the public, for their final concert of the year. The awards ceremony also took place, and every student participating got an award. The 1-year members received a music department patch, the 2-year members a leather patch, the 3-year members a bar pin, and the 4-year members a certificate. One person in each group also received a most improved and a contributed most award.

The new a capella group also performed that night for their first concert. Ray Jackson, a senior, offered to create the group this year, and as of now, the group will continue to convene in future years. I was astounded to hear Nicolette Fardon, a junior, to sing a solo as they performed “Price Tag” by Jessie J, her first solo in a school choir!

The symphonic band, combined choirs, combined orchestras, and jazz ensemble performed afterward, and each group received their awards directly after each of their performances. The jazz ensemble performed Chameleon after all of the awards were given out.
