Waterford Historical Society “Call for Artists” for August event

Local artists have an opportunity to display, and even to sell, their works in a unique setting this coming summer. The Waterford Historical Society, Inc. is soliciting one or two original works of art from local artists to be considered for inclusion in the juried art exhibit for contemporary artists as part of the third annual “Art in Waterford: Past+Present+Future” event to take place on historic Jordan Green in Waterford, Connecticut, on August 14 and 15, 2021.
If selected by the jurors, works by local contemporary artists will be on display in the Margaret Stacy Barn on Jordan Green each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the “Art in Waterford” event, which last year brought hundreds of visitors from the region. The artists may also choose to sell their artwork, with a percentage of the proceeds to be donated to the Waterford Historical Society, Inc.
The artwork should depict any aspect of people, places, objects, or impressions of the Waterford, Connecticut, area. Paintings, sketches, photographs and etchings should be no larger than 3’ x 4’. Sculptures will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Artists must provide their own easels or stands for displaying their work at the event.
