Waterford Issues Emergency Services Training Notice
Emergency services training exercise will be taking place at the Quaker Hill Elementary School this week.

WATERFORD, CT — On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, between the hours of 7:00am-1:00pm, an emergency services training exercise will be taking place at the Quaker Hill Elementary School, (285 Bloomingdale Road, Quaker Hill, Connecticut).
This training exercise will also utilize nearby locations in Quaker Hill, such as the Quaker Hill Fire Department (17 Old Colchester Road), the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (63 Old Norwich Road), and potentially other nearby parking lots and/or fields.

This training exercise involves the Waterford Board of Education, Waterford Police Department, Waterford Fire Department, Waterford Ambulance Service, Waterford Emergency Management and Dispatch center, Office of the First Selectman as well as local partners from neighboring police departments, hospitals and other emergency service agencies.
For the training exercise to be beneficial to those involved, it requires an incredible amount of communication, collaboration and role-playing. The exercise must be responded to as though it is a real emergency; therefore, you may observe or hear a significant amount of activity in the areas we listed on the day of the exercise. The activity will not create risks for those living, working or traveling through the immediate area.

This information is being provided to ensure the public is aware that this is an exercise, that no actual emergency is occurring and to respectfully request that only those actively participating in the drill are near or at these locations on the listed date and times. There will be signage in place leading up to and during this drill to further advise the community of this exercise.
