Waterford Kindergarten Registration Starts Soon

WATERFORD, CT - The Office of the Superintendent of Waterford Public Schools is announcing open registration for children entering Kindergarten in the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.

Parents are requested to pick up registration forms starting the week of February 4, 2019.

Documentation required for Kindergarten registration includes:

• Child’s Birth Certificate - Connecticut law requires public schools to be open to all children who reach the age of 5 on or before the first of January of any school year. [C.G.S.* Sec. 10-15c]
• Physical Examination Form - completed and signed by the child's doctor, dated within 12 months of the date of entry into school
• Proof of Residency - per Board of Education Policy 5118; which includes a valid lease or mortgage.

Kindergarten Registration Packets are available at any one of the three elementary schools during the school day (8:45-3:00, M-F). To assist in projecting enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year, parents are asked to return registration paperwork to the school by March 4, 2019. Please note that incoming Kindergarten students can continue to register after the March 4th date at all of the elementary schools.
