Waterford Man, 53, Charged With Voyeurism After Months-Long Probe
Forensic detective work led to the arrest of Keith Hancock of Waterford, police said. He's charged with eight counts of voyeurism.

WATERFORD, CT — Back in the fall of 2021 is when Waterford police began their investigation.
Tuesday, that months-long probe ended in the arrest of 53-year-old Keith Hancock, police announced on Facebook.
Hancock faces eight counts of voyeurism and one of criminal trespass. He's being held on $100,000 bail.

"During the late evening and overnight hours of October 7," Waterford patrol officers were called to a report of a suspicious person in a resident's backyard. The police K9 team searched for the person, and for evidence, the latter of which was found that police said showed a person had been there.
The Waterford Police Department's Investigative Services Unit found that the person had used "digital recording devices to record people involved in various activities within their homes." Police said the victims in those recordings were identified and informed by police.

Investigators did interviews, conducted searches, and seizures of "additional evidence and that led them to a suspect."
Waterford detectives worked with the Eastern Technical Investigative Unit, a task force, police said, organized under the U.S. Secret Service. The task force forensically examined seized digital media, police said, using advanced training in specialized equipment. The task force is made up of investigators from the Groton Town, Norwich and Waterford police departments.
Hancock is due in court Feb. 23.
