Waterford Man Arrested on Burglary, Criminal Mischief Charges
The alleged burglary took place early in the morning on Thursday, Sept. 25.

New London police officers responded to a report of a burglary at 12:06 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25. A resident of the 145 Garfield Ave. apartment told police a man kicked in the rear door, then fled when she and her roommate confronted him.
They reported the registration plate on the vehicle the suspect fled in as CT 256SFV. Police visited the home of the vehicle’s registered owner and located Anthony Michalik, 50, of 59 Fog Plain Rd., Waterford.
According to police, Michalik denied his involvement but he was positively identified by the victim and placed under arrest on the following charges:

- Burglary in the second degree
- Criminal mischief in the third degree
“Both the suspect and the victims know each other and had had an argument earlier in the night over drugs,” police said. “This does not [appear] to be a random act by the suspect.”
Michalik was held on a $5,000 bond and presented for arraignment on Thursday, Sept. 25.
