Waterford Officials Evaluating Beach Rules on Boogie and Skim Boards
With the purchase of a formerly private stretch of beach, rules regarding boards are coming being evaluated.

WATERFORD, CT- After purchasing a formerly private beach a couple years ago, town officials have been evaluating what the ruling should be on using recreational boards there, The Day reported.
Boogie, surf and skim boards are not permitted at the Waterford Beach as they are considered dangerous by city officials, The Day reported. Yet since the town’s purchase of Pleasure Beach became official last year, a private beach where many would use their boards, beach guests have really no place to use them now.
Waterford residents have been voicing their complaintsabout the new rules for the beach, according to The Day. Parks and Recreation will hear an evaluation from the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency, while a Facebook group entitled “Bring Back Boards” has been generating a lot of attention.
