Waterford PD Makes Christmas Run to Replace New Haven Toys
The New Haven Police Department's collection of toys it was going to distribute was stolen.

The Grinch was foiled once again this Christmas—this time by the Waterford Police Department.
According to the department’s Facebook page, officials said they had heard that $20,000 in toys the New Haven Police Department had collected were stolen.
Waterford police said their Walmart food, clothing and toy drive Sunday was extremely successful and they were in a position to help New Haven.

After checking with Waterford Youth Services and finding out they had more than enough, police contacted the NHPD and told them a Ford Explorer stuffed with toys was on the way.
“Things like this are what the holidays are all about,” the department wrote on its Facebook page. “So thanks everyone who donated, you helped a lot more people than just those around us!”
