Waterford Police Arrest Suspect on Narcotics Charges After Ramming Police Vehice

Police said they saw the suspect conducting business in the Crystal Mall parking lot.

WATERFORD, CT - Police arrested a New London man Wednesday on charges stemming from an alleged narcotics transaction and subsequently ramming a police cruiser.

Police said the Waterford Police Department Investigative Services, Patrol Services and the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force (RCETF) was conducting a narcotics investigation in the Crystal Mall parking lot in the area of Christmas Tree shop loading dock area.

Officers allegedly observed a narcotics transaction, and as they went to stop the suspect he put the vehicle in reverse and rammed an undercover police vehicle and drove off. The suspect was stopped in the area J.C. Penny parking lot.

Vain Dadd of New London was taken into custody, and officers located 15 grams of heroin and $450 in cash.

He was arrested on charges of assault, reckless endangerment, evading, possession of a controlled substance and possession and sale of a controlled substance.
