Waterford Police Crack Down On Speeding
The police department is using a portable radar speed display to ensure drivers are sticking to the speed limit.

WATERFORD, CT - The Waterford Police Department Traffic Office realizes that vehicles speeding on residential roads is an issue that effects our residents. The Traffic Office continues to find new ways to monitor vehicle speeds and enforce the speed limit for the safety of our community.
Recently, the Waterford Police Department acquired a Portable Radar Speed Display which will be placed at various locations around town. This unit has many functions, some of which include recording and data collection. The data collected is used to determine if enforcement in necessary and if so the most effective time speed enforcement should be conducted.
The Traffic Office is aware that speeding happens on almost every street in town, and we strive to find solutions to minimize speeding to prevent accidents. If you are interested in having the Portable radar speed display or another speed monitor we have placed in your area, please contact the Traffic Officer, Ryan Spearrin, at 860-442-9451 x 2314, or via email at rspearrin@waterfordct.org.
