Any new commercial building plans, new speed limits, stop signs, etc that come through the Town Zoning has a component involving the WPD Traffic Officer. State and Federal grants involving traffic, DWI, seatbelts, cell phones, etc, as well as traffic pattern setup for items such as Summer Music, exit traffic from Sailfest, long term accident problems, storm issues, or helping with traffic for Millstone events are dealt with by the Traffic Officer.

He is also in charge of all impounded vehicles, and dealing with the towing companies.

Any speeding complaints, setup of the traffic trailers, and care of the department’s ATV’s, trailers, and generators are dealt with by David – he has a varied skill set! Dave is excellent at dealing with people, and making sure that their problems are dealt with in a timely and compassionate way.

We will miss Dave, and his expertise at his job. We’ll miss stories about his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers, and any of the Boston area professional teams, as well as stories from his rides with the Freedom Rider motorcycle club. Above all we will miss having his great personality around here on a daily basis. We wish you the best of luck Dave, stay safe our brother.

Anyone with well wishes for Officer Anderson may leave them on the Waterford Police Department’s Facebook post.
