Waterford Police Sergeant Promoted to Lieutenant
Waterford Police Sgt. Nicole Vanoverloop will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant Aug. 13 and the public is invited to the ceremony.

WATERFORD, CT—Congratulations are in order!
The Waterford Police Department posted to Facebook saying it was "happy" to announce that police Sgt. Nicole Vanoverloop will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The 3 p.m. ceremony at the police department, located at 41 Avery Lane, is open to the public.
Vanoverloop has been a member of the department for nearly 17 years and has served as a patrol officer, youth officer, investigator, patrol sergeant and is currently the WPD Training Sergeant.

"I don’t think she realizes the impact her presence made on me in high school! Such a kind, good person. Congratulations to her and the entire department," wrote Jordan Perkins, who was joined by many others with the same sentiment.

This promotion will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Lt. Stephen Bellos.
