Waterford Product Named Among Top New England Soccer Players of All Time

The New England Soccer Journal profiled the top 50 New England players in its latest edition.

In its most recent edition, the New England Soccer Journal selected the top 50 players of all time from New England, and not surprisingly, World Cup and Olympic champion Kristine Lilly of Wilton topped the list.

Katie Schoepfer, who set a state record with 157 career goals at Waterford High School, was named honorable mention. She played at Penn State, twice earning All-American honors, and has played professionally since 2010.

Eleven Connecticut players made the top 50 list, and nine more received honorable mention:
