Waterford Road Collapses Due to Flooding
Several roads are impacted by the collapse and flooding.
Due to heavy rains, Waterford roadways are flooding and causing trouble for motorists Thursday afternoon. The Waterford Police Department shared the following update:
- Mullen Hill Road in the area of #20 is closed due to a roadway collapse.
- Route One at Tiffany Lane is flooding, but looks to clear.
- All schoolchildren and buses are accounted for (some had to turn around, all parents notified per the school). Department of Public Works has crews out, and the PD and FD are responding to numerous calls.
“Looking at the radar, there appears to be a large amount of rain heading to our area within the next two hours,” Waterford Police said via Facebook. “If an area looks flooded, do not drive into it. Call it in to our dispatch center. If a roadway looks unstable, do not drive on it. You can let us know of power outages, etc here, we will monitor this site [Facebook], and the WECC dispatchers are always available for your calls at 860-442-9451.
