Waterford Selectmen To Vote on $800K On School Tech, Utility Capital Projects
The Waterford Board of Selectmen will meet Tuesday to act on utility infrastructure funds and over $800,000 in school technology purchases.
WATERFORD, CT — The Waterford Board of Selectmen convened a special meeting Tuesday at Town Hall to consider action on more than $800,000 in spending across school technology upgrades and municipal utility capital projects, all funded through the fiscal year 2027 budget taking effect July 1.
The board was asked to approve two appropriations requested by Director of Utilities Jill Stevens. The first, totaling $100,000, would be designated for Cross Country Sewer Main Access improvements. The second appropriation of $45,671 would fund Water Tank Management work. Both amounts are set to become available July 1, 2026, and if approved, would be forwarded to the Board of Finance as required under town procedures.
The largest items on the agenda involve the Board of Education's technology replacement program. Purchasing Agent Shea Davy, acting on behalf of BOE Director of Information Technology Mark Geer, brought forward recommendations for three separate technology contracts.

The board was asked to authorize the purchase of Chromebooks and Chromebook Plus notebooks from Vivacity Technology Tech PBC — obtained through an Equalis Group cooperative purchasing contract — at a cost of $229,188. A separate contract with Dell Technologies for desktop computers, procured through a NASPO/State Contract, was listed at $193,182.95. A third item sought board approval to award Apple Inc. a contract worth $46,389 to supply additional Chromebooks and desktop computers under the same FY27 capital line.
In addition, the board will also consider awarding a contract of $222,353 to Total Communications, Inc. for Meraki wireless access points, switch upgrades, and installation labor. Under an E-Rate grant, the school district's share of that contract would be limited to $111,176.50, with federal E-Rate funds covering the remainder.
