Waterford Speedbowl Expected To Open For 2017 Season
After months of uncertainty, the New London-Waterford Speedbowl has announced an expected opening for the 2017 season.

WATERFORD, CT - After months of uncertainty, the New London-Waterford Speedbowl has announced an expected opening for the 2017 season, Fox 61 reported. The announcement comes months after the facility’s owner was charged in connection to a Danbury sex trafficking ring.
Speedbowl officials recently said the facility is expected to open before the end of June, according to Fox 61. Officials also clarified that final details still need to be confirmed. (To sign up for Waterford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Management said there is currently a working agreement for the Speedbowl to be leased for the season, according to Fox 61. An open practice is also set to be scheduled before opening weekend.

Patch previously reported in March that Speedbowl owner Bruce Bemer, 63, of Glastonbury was arrested and charged in connection to a sex-trafficking ring that operated out of Danbury. In April, NASCAR ended their relationship with the racetrack shortly after Bemer’s arrest.
