Waterford Town Supervisors Union Supports Youth Services Bureau's Ballroom Battle
AFSCME Local 818 donates $500 to the Waterford Youth Services Bureau to support the March 24 "Ballroom Battle"

Waterford, CT – AFSCME Local 818, the Waterford General Government Administrators Union, has donated $500 to the support the Youth Services Bureau’s annual “Ballroom Battle: Waterford vs. East Lyme Dancing with the Stars” event on March 24 at Waterford High School.
Local 818 President Michael Bekech, the town tax assessor, recently presented the union’s $500 contribution to Youth Services Bureau Director Dani Gorman and a group of appreciative YSB staffers and event participants.
The Ballroom Battle, which features a dance competition between Waterford and East Lyme performers, is jointly presented by the Brian T. Dagle Foundation and Waterford and East Lyme Youth Services. Proceeds from the event will benefit mental health and suicide prevention initiatives.

“Our members feel it’s important to give back in a way that reflects and reinforces the spirit of this town,” Bekech commented. “The Ballroom Battle is a wonderful event that will bring people together to support an incredibly worthwhile cause.”
The Ballroom Battle will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at East Lyme Parks & Rec, Waterford Youth Services, Cafe Sol in Niantic or with Ann Irr Dagle(ann@brianshealinghearts or 860-625-5280).

WGGA/AFSCME Local 818 also donated $500 to support the Waterford High School scholarship program.
