Waterford Woman Killed, Stonington Man Seriously Injured In Car Crash
A Waterford woman was killed and Stonington man suffered serious injuries in a single-car accident Wednesday night, according to police.

WATERFORD, CT — A Waterford woman was killed and a Stonington man was seriously injured following an accident in Pomfret on Wednesday night, according to state police.
The Stonington man was driving a 1967 Triumph GT6 at 8:24 p.m. southbound on Route 169. The car ran off the right side of the road, then struck a metal beam, a traffic sign, and a tree “before coming to an uncontrolled rest down an embankment,” state police said.
The driver was transported via EMS air to UMass Hospital for suspected serious injuries.

The passenger, Elisha Roode, 35, of Waterford, died in the accident.
Police are investigating the crash.
