Waterford's Freezing Weekend Forecast
The National Weather Service issued a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for the area in anticipation of the coldest air of the season arriving.

Break out the fleece folks, because it’s official — we have now reached the point in the calendar where temperatures grow colder each week. Get ready for the coldest air of the season to arrive in time for this weekend.
The National Weather Service issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for all of southern Connecticut, in anticipation of the first freeze of the season.

For the immediate Connecticut coastline, the first freeze of the season is expected on Sunday night, Oct. 18. But for northern Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties, the first freeze may occur on Saturday night, Oct. 17.

The weather service’s forecast also reintroduces the term wind chill into its forecast, which gives you an indication summer is in the rearview mirror.
