WHS Swim Team: Oct 14 - October 21

The girls' swim team had two meets this past week. The first was against Windham/Lyman Memorial. Waterford came out with the win by a score of 93-66. Emily Pepin swam with the winning 200 freestyle team, and won a race of her own in the 50 freestyle. She also swam with the 200 medley relay team. This was only her second meet back from a rotator cuff injury, yet she performed as if she’d been healthy all season. Pepin on the meet, “It’s nice to be back in the water and to win. I’m hoping to make states before the season ends.”

Their next meet was against the talented East Lyme team, which they ending up losing 101-72. As always, East Lyme is a tough group to beat. Amy Karlberg swam in the 100 butterfly and the 200 medley. Karlberg on the meet, “I’m really proud of everyone and how they are improving. East Lyme is a tough meet. Everyone swam their best.”
