WHS Swim Team: September 29 - October 4

Waterford fell to a talented East Lyme team on Tuesday 97-73. East Lyme has won the ECC Championship every single year for the past 10 seasons. This matchup creates a great challenge to the Waterford squad. It mainly serves as a learning experience to the Waterford girls.

However, Waterford still managed to win a few races. Caitlin Henderson won the 100 meter breaststroke. Henderson on the win, "The season' going good. I am improving a lot and cutting from my original time." The freshman hopes to continue her success this season.

Likewise, Asia Langley took a win herself. She won the 100 meter butterfly and cut her time by two seconds. Langley explains, "This was the most competitive race. I'm very happy with how the girls swam."

Coach Arnold, although given a loss, is still pleased with how the girls swam. Arnold recites, "The girls swam up to East Lymes level of talent. We gave them [East Lyme] a real challenge."

Waterford is looking forward to Friday, when they celebrate the Senior Meet against Ledyard. Waterford seniors are Amy Karlberg, Kara Applegate, Grace Martino, and Emily Pepin. The meet starts at 3:30pm.
