WEST HARTFORD, CT — An upcoming community event in West Hartford will focus on how children navigate an increasingly digital world, with a film screening and expert panel scheduled for Thursday, April 23.
The program, titled "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age — Elementary School Age Edition," will take place at Charter Oak International Academy, 425 Oakwood Ave, West Hartford.
The evening begins at 5:15 p.m. with an “Alternative Device Fair” and pizza, where attendees can explore simplified, child-friendly digital communication tools.
A screening of the film starts at 6:15 p.m., followed by a panel discussion featuring experts.
Organizers say the event will examine challenges faced by children, parents, and educators, including early exposure to online content, social media pressures, and distractions in the classroom.
The event is presented by the West Hartford Community of Concern in partnership with West Hartford Public Schools, Charter Oak Academy, OK to Delay West Hartford, and is sponsored by the West Hartford Prevention Partnership.
