WEST HARTFORD, CT — If you're hungry for pancakes (and who isn't?) and you want to help a good cause (who doesn't?), then head on to West Hartford this weekend.
That's because the Greater Hartford Host Lions Club will host its 61st annual Pancake Festival and Breakfast Buffet.
This major fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to noon at Farmington Avenue Baptist Church, 149 Mountain Road, West Hartford.
The event will feature an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, continuing a longstanding community tradition.
Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for children. Raffle tickets will also be available for $10.
Proceeds benefit causes supported by the club, which has served Hartford and West Hartford for more than a century.
The group supports a range of local nonprofits, including The American School for the Deaf, The Bridge Family Center, Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Foodshare, Oak Hill, and The Village for Families & Children.
In addition to fundraising events, the club conducts vision screenings at schools and senior centers, provides free eye exams and eyeglasses for residents in need, and awards two $3,000 college scholarships each year to local graduating high school seniors.
The club is part of Lions Clubs International, which has more than 1.4 million members in about 46,000 clubs worldwide.
