The 37-year-old West Hartford man will spend time in a federal prison for supplying cocaine at a New Britain car dealership.

WEST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation tied to a New Britain car dealership, authorities said Thursday afternoon.

Nelson Alejandro-Capo, 37, was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford to 144 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan.

Federal investigators said Alejandro-Capo supplied cocaine to a drug trafficking organization led by Wilfredo Ortiz, which operated out of Supreme Automotive on Main Street in New Britain.

The investigation, conducted in 2024 by the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force and the New Britain Police Department, used court-authorized wiretaps, surveillance, and controlled purchases of narcotics.

Authorities identified Alejandro-Capo as a supplier who, through co-conspirator Eli Samuel O’Farrill-Fernandez, delivered approximately two kilograms of cocaine on Sept. 24, 2024, and another four kilograms on Oct. 12, 2024.

Ortiz and several others were arrested on Nov. 14, 2024.

Searches tied to the investigation recovered more than five kilograms of cocaine, over 200 grams of fentanyl, about 30 grams of heroin, seven firearms, ammunition, roughly $75,000 in cash, and 26 vehicles, according to court records.

Alejandro-Capo was arrested on Nov. 22, 2024, and later pleaded guilty on Dec. 17, 2025, to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, as well as two counts related to distributing 500 grams or more of cocaine.

He has been held in custody since Feb. 6, 2026, after his bond was revoked.

Ortiz and O-Farrill-Fernandez previously pleaded guilty and are serving prison sentences of 135 months and 120 months, respectively.
