WEST HARTFORD, CT — Several young people will show there are more ways to make money when you're a youth than hitting mom and dad up for cash.
The NextGen Innovators Young Entrepreneur Market will return Saturday, May 2, bringing dozens of young vendors to the West Hartford Town Hall parking lot, 50 S. Main St., for a community-focused marketplace.
The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a rain date of May 3, will feature entrepreneurs ages 8 to 18 selling handmade goods, including artwork, crocheted items, and baked treats.
Organizers say the market, now in its fourth iteration, has become a popular local gathering that allows young participants to showcase their work while engaging directly with customers.
Beyond sales, the event is designed to provide hands-on experience in business skills such as pricing, marketing, and customer interaction, while allowing residents to support emerging creators.
The market is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash for purchases.
