WEST HARTFORD, CT — Organizers are encouraging runners and families to register for this year’s America 250-themed 5K race in West Hartford, with proceeds supporting local charitable and scholarship programs.
Participants who register by Friday, May 22, will receive a custom-designed commemorative event shirt, according to organizers.
The 5K race begins in West Hartford Center and follows a route featuring historical landmarks, residential neighborhoods, and a brookside running trail.
It is part of the annual 'Celebrate West Hartford' festival June 6-7.
Organizers said the event will include prize awards for more than 70 winners across multiple categories.
A non-competitive Kids’ K for children ages 3 to 10 will also take place in Blue Back Square. All participants in the children’s event will receive medals.
Organizers said a portion of event proceeds will benefit the Leisure Services Scholarship Fund and The Town That Cares, two programs supporting local residents and families in need.
The event is part of broader America 250 celebrations recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
