According to town officials, the site was prepared between 2024 and 2025 and planted using a no-till seed drill with native perennial and annual grasses and wildflower seeds designed to create a resilient meadow habitat.

Town representatives said the seeds have now sprouted and the area will require regular hand weeding throughout the growing season.

Volunteer work sessions are expected to take place once a month through September or October, with each session anticipated to last between two and three hours.

Officials said they hope to recruit enough volunteers to ensure that five to six people are available for each monthly session.

The town’s meadow consultant will provide training for volunteers.

Residents interested in volunteering are asked to contact the town at .
