• West Hartford Honors Firefighters, Police For Service, Leadership (patch.com) — West Hartford residents are being introduced to the firefighters and police officers singled out this month for their exceptional service and leadership in town. Local firefighter/paramedics David Holmes and Sean Kearney, along with Det. Kylee Lecchi and Officer Stephanie Hannigan, were honored by community organizations for lifesaving work, public safety contributions, and building trust with West Hartford neighbors.    

• Nearly 1,000 strong mourn loss of CT rabbi, celebrating love the Holocaust survivor brought the world (courant.com) — Nearly 1,000 people gathered at Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford to honor Rabbi Philip Lazowski, a Holocaust survivor and beloved spiritual leader who died Thursday at 96. Family, congregants, and top political figures recalled his decades of teaching, writing, and advocacy for Holocaust education, emphasizing his message of transforming darkness into light and his deep ties to the local Jewish community.
