West Hartford Pride will celebrate its seventh year with a rally, drag performances, live music, and family activities.

WEST HARTFORD, CT —West Hartford Pride will conclude its monthlong Pride Month celebration with its seventh annual Pride Festival on Saturday, June 27, at West Hartford Town Hall.

The day begins with a community rally at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of the town hall auditorium, 50 S. Main St., followed by the free public festival from noon to 6 p.m. in the town hall parking lot.

Organizers said this year's rally, themed "Stand Our Ground," will feature youth speakers, members of the town's legislative delegation, and other guests.

The event is intended to highlight efforts in West Hartford and Connecticut to support and protect the LGBTQIA+ community amid what organizers describe as increasingly restrictive legislation enacted in other parts of the country.

American Sign Language interpretation will be available during the rally, on the festival's main stage, and in the family tent.

The festival will feature live performances throughout the day, including hosts Natalia Fierce and DJ Edgewood, "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Alyssa Edwards, musicians Miss Kelli and Bentley Robles, Sister Funk!, New England Pride 365, and more than a dozen drag performers.

Organizers said the event is designed to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community while showcasing West Hartford's businesses, arts, and cultural organizations.

The festival is open to all ages, with programming intended for families and attendees of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

West Hartford Pride thanked the Town of West Hartford, Gilead Sciences, and Circle Care for sponsoring the event.

Circle Care, a nonprofit medical center that provides primary care with a focus on LGBTQI+ patients and people living with HIV, is serving as the festival's stage sponsor.

The organization also noted that it was named the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce's 2024 Nonprofit of the Year.
