WEST HARTFORD, CT — With America celebrating a very, very special 250th birthday this Saturday, July 4, West Hartford leaders have announced municipal impacts regarding services in town.
West Hartford municipal offices and several town facilities will close Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday, while curbside trash and recycling collection will continue without interruption.
West Hartford Town Hall, Department of Public Works offices, community centers, senior centers, and town-operated summer camp programs will all be closed Friday.
The West Hartford skating rink will also remain closed as renovations continue.
The facility is scheduled to reopen Sept. 8.
Residents should note that the Fourth of July holiday will not affect trash or recycling collection.
The town said all trash, recyclables, bulky waste, metal, and yard waste will be collected on their regularly scheduled days, with no holiday delay.
On Saturday, July 4, the West Hartford Public Library branches, Cornerstone Aquatics Center, and the Yard Waste & Recycling Center will be closed.
Outdoor pools throughout West Hartford will remain open on both July 3 and July 4.
