WEST HARTFORD, CT — Frisbie's Dairy Barn will celebrate National Ice Cream Day by keeping all six of its locations, including its West Hartford shop, open for 24 consecutive hours on Sunday, July 19.
The family-owned ice cream company said its West Hartford location at 38 Isham Road in Blue Back Square will join its five other stores in serving customers continuously from 12 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
The annual event began in 2021 at Frisbie's original New Britain location and has expanded alongside the company's growth. This year marks the first time all six locations will participate in the 24-hour celebration.
Guests can expect breakfast-inspired ice cream flavors during the morning, exclusive limited-edition and seasonal flavors, giveaways, and other special activities throughout the day.
"It's a celebration of everything we love about ice cream throughout the year — you may also see some seasonal favorites reappear for one day only," co-owner Kendra Walker said in a statement. "You'll have to stop by to check out exactly what we've got going on!"
Owner Paul Parks III said the event is intended to make National Ice Cream Day a memorable experience for customers.
"We're attempting something that nobody has done before—operating all six of our locations for 24 straight hours," Parks said. "It's a huge undertaking, but it's a celebration worthy of ice cream. National Ice Cream Day is our favorite holiday, and we can't think of a better way to celebrate with our communities."
Frisbie's Dairy Barn was founded in New Britain and produces homemade, small-batch super-premium ice cream. In addition to West Hartford, the company operates locations in New Britain, Windsor, East Lyme, North Attleboro, Mass., and Sturbridge, Mass.
The company said updates and additional event details will be posted on its Instagram account, @FrisbiesDairyBarn.
