WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is accepting registrations for an upcoming Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course designed for child care providers and anyone who cares for infants and children.
The American Heart Association training will be held on Monday, Aug. 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at West Hartford Town Hall, Room 217, 50 South Main St.
The course is approved by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) for child care providers and uses a blended learning format. Participants must complete the online portion of the course before attending the in-person skills checkoff session.
Registration is required by Aug. 10, and attendees must bring proof that they completed the online training to the in-person class.
The registration fee is $75.
According to the health district, the course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to pediatric emergencies, including first aid, CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
