Connecticut requires certain immunizations for school attendance, and checking records in advance can help families avoid delays or interruptions during school registration, according to the health district.

Parents whose children need vaccinations are encouraged to schedule appointments before the start of school.

The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District said its staff can review a child's immunization record, determine whether vaccines are due, answer questions and schedule an appointment.

Families should bring their child's immunization record to an appointment if it is available.

Health officials are also encouraging families to schedule early because appointments can fill quickly in the weeks before school begins.

The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is located at 580 Cottage Grove Road, Suite 100, in Bloomfield.

For information or to schedule an appointment, call 860-561-7900.
