The new eatery in the Bishop's Corner section of town will serve Detroit-style pizza, the only such place in town.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A new Detroit-style pizza restaurant from the owners of two established Connecticut pizzerias is coming to West Hartford.

"Dime Pizza" is planned to open by late 2026 at 345 N. Main St. in the Bishop's Corner plaza, taking over the former Salsa Fresca location.

The Town of West Hartford Economic Development Office announced the new restaurant Tuesday on Instagram.

The restaurant is owned by Dave, Dennis and Camille Noad, who also operate Camille's Wood Fired Pizza in Tolland and Oakland Pizza in South Windsor.

The West Hartford Economic Development Office described Camille's as a well-known, award-winning restaurant.

"HOT OFF THE PRESS🔥 Dime Pizza is coming to West Hartford!" the office wrote in its announcement.

Dime Pizza will specialize in Detroit-style pizza, a rectangular pan pizza known for its thick, airy, and chewy crust and crispy, caramelized cheese around the edges.

The style originated in Detroit in the 1940s and is typically prepared with cheese and toppings placed directly on the dough before tomato sauce is added on top.

The town's announcement did not provide a specific opening date.

Additional details are expected as the restaurant gets closer to opening.

Dime Pizza has also established an Instagram account at @dime.pizza, where customers can follow future announcements.
