WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Public Library has selected author Caro Claire Burke for its 2026 West Hartford Reads program, with free tickets for her November appearance becoming available next week.
Burke, author of the novel "Yesteryear," will appear Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Sedgwick Middle School, 128 Sedgwick Road. The program will also be available by livestream.
Free in-person tickets will be distributed at Noah Webster Library, 20 S. Main St., on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
People can begin lining up at the library's South Main Street entrance at 5 p.m., with ticket distribution beginning at 6 p.m., according to the library.
Officials said they expect the available in-person tickets to go quickly.
Residents will have another opportunity to obtain a ticket by participating in a West Hartford Reads book discussion.
Registration for those discussions opens Sept. 15 at 6 p.m., and participants can become a West Hartford Reads VIP and receive one ticket.
Those unable to obtain an in-person ticket can join a waitlist or register to watch the event via livestream.
West Hartford Reads is presented by West Hartford Public Library.
The Nov. 5 appearance is being held at Sedgwick Middle School and is supported by the Thomas F. Kilfoil Memorial Bequest and the West Hartford Library Foundation.
In addition to her work as an author, Burke co-hosts "Diabolical Lies," a long-form culture and politics podcast with Katie Gatti Tassin.
The podcast covers culture, politics, media, and internet discourse, often connecting broader topics involving political philosophy, economics, and capitalism with pop culture and social media.
The show is available through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Substack.
