WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Police Department's Emergency Services Unit earned a second-place finish at the 2026 Connecticut SWAT Challenge, police announced.
The competition brought together tactical teams from across the country for a series of scenarios testing teamwork, communication, physical fitness, and tactical proficiency, according to the department.
It took place at the Hartford Gun Club in East Granby.
West Hartford police congratulated the ESU members for their performance and the preparation that competed.
"We are proud of our ESU members for representing the West Hartford Police Department with professionalism and dedication," the department said. "Their second-place finish reflects the countless hours of training and preparation they put in throughout the year."
"Congratulations to the entire team on a job well done!" police said.
The winning team was from the Stamford Police Department.
