Free Diabetes Workshops Offered For West Hartford Residents

A free seven-week diabetes self-management program will offer virtual and in-person sessions beginning Sept. 22.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is offering free diabetes self-management workshops this fall for people who are newly diagnosed or want updated information about managing diabetes.

The seven-week program will run from Sept. 22 through Nov. 5, with participants able to choose between virtual and in-person sessions.

Registered dietitian Teresa Dotson will lead the workshops, which will focus on managing diabetes, eating well while following diabetic guidelines, and addressing participants' questions and concerns.

The workshops are free and open to everyone, but advance registration is required.

The workshop series is supported by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Registration for the in-person sessions is available by calling or visiting the Bloomfield Senior Center, 330 Park Ave., at 860-243-8361.
