Diabetes Workshops Offered In West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District

Free seven-week diabetes self-management workshops will begin Sept. 22, with virtual and in-person options available.

WEST HARTFORD/BLOOMFIELD, CT — The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is offering free diabetes self-management workshops this fall for people who are newly diagnosed or want help managing diabetes.

The seven-week program will run from Sept. 22 through Nov. 5, with participants able to choose between virtual Tuesday evening sessions or in-person Thursday morning sessions in Bloomfield.

Registered dietitian Teresa Dotson will lead the workshops, which will cover managing diabetes, eating according to diabetic guidelines, and addressing participants' questions and concerns.

The virtual sessions will be held Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. via Zoom.

In-person workshops will be held Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Bloomfield Senior Center, 330 Park Ave., Bloomfield.

The workshops are free and open to all, but advance registration is required.

The program is funded through a grant from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
