WEST HARTFORD, CT — A phone service disruption is preventing inbound calls to numerous West Hartford municipal and school facilities, town officials announced Thursday morning.
The outage is affecting all inbound calls to West Hartford Public Schools, West Hartford Town Hall offices, the school district's administrative offices and the Noah Webster Library.
Calls to West Hartford Fire Department headquarters and all five town fire stations are also affected, as are calls to the Fairview Cemetery office.
Town officials said the disruption is with West Hartford's phone carrier, which is working to resolve the problem.
While telephone service is disrupted, residents who need to reach town or school employees are being asked to use West Hartford's online staff directory to send an email requesting a callback.
Officials did not provide an estimate for when normal phone service would be restored.
"We apologize for the inconvenience while the phone carrier actively works to resolve the issue," the town said.
