West Hartford Psychiatrist's Medical License Revoked; Disciplinary Hearing Continues (patch.com) β West Hartford readers are learning that state health regulators have permanently revoked the medical license of psychiatrist Dr. Douglas Zelisko, who ran Integrative Psychiatry on South Main Street, while still weighing possible civil penalties. Officials allege improper prescribing of controlled substances, boundary violations with vulnerable psychiatric patients, and hiring and treating an unlicensed romantic partner in his practice, with further fact-finding scheduled.

2. Student Taken To Hospital After Minibus, SUV Crash In West Hartford: PD, Schools: UPDATE (patch.com) β A small school bus carrying West Hartford middle schoolers collided with an SUV on Albany Avenue near Huntington Drive, sending one student to Connecticut Children's with neck pain. District officials called it a minor, weather-related crash, quickly arranged alternate transportation, notified all parents, and report that students have since returned to school.

Middletown Homicide Suspect Shot And Wounded By West Hartford Police After Pursuit Spills Into Hartford (patch.com) β West Hartford's license-plate readers helped police track a Middletown homicide suspect whose vehicle was later stopped in Hartford after officers tried to pull him over near New Park Avenue. West Hartford officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, wounding him and another person but leaving officers unharmed, while state investigators now review the police shooting.
