WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford residents looking to get rid of bulky or oversized items will now need to arrange collection directly with the town's residential waste and recycling provider.
As of Oct. 1, the West Hartford Department of Public Works no longer issues bulky waste permits, according to the town.
Instead, residents must contact All American Waste directly to request service, schedule a pickup and pay any applicable collection and disposal fees.
Previously, residents had to obtain a permit from the town and then contact the service provider to arrange collection.
The town said the new process is intended to streamline the service by eliminating that additional step.
Fees will vary depending on the specific items being collected and disposed of, according to the town.
All American Waste maintains a bulky waste collection menu listing applicable charges.
The change applies to West Hartford's curbside bulky and oversized waste collection program.
Residents can contact All American Waste at 860-289-7850 or use the company's online customer service portal to arrange a collection.
